DR. Diwakar Sukul
Dr. Diwakar Sukul is the founder and director of the KAMKUS Clinics, in Harley Street, London and the developer of the concept of the Multi-Dimensional healthcare and Eastern Psychotherapy, Mind, Body Connective Therapy, and Mind Body Harmonics to release emotional challenges.
The creation of Kamkus reflects a lifelong vision inspired by his beliefs that holistic and traditional medicine should work together addressing all aspects of the person in an integrated way. Dr. Sukul was a consultant at London's Hale Clinic for several years and is respected for his work in the field of integrated medicine.
The word Kamkus combines the names of his mother Kamla and father Kusumakar who have contributed significantly to the welfare of the poor and deprived women and the children in India. Dr. Sukul has pledged his support for the Kamkus Clinic to charity that aims to develop a holistic hospital offering a free healthcare to the needy and the deprived.
Dr. Sukul possesses a Ph.D. in Psychology. Hailing from Delhi (India), he has a background in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, Ericksonian Hypnotherapy and NLP. He has worked with Delhi Police Foundation for Correction, De-addiction and Rehabilitation and the Jagriti De-addiction Centre Association for Social Health in India where he introduced group psychotherapy, hypnotherapy and yoga therapy for drug addicts. He also served in Delhi police force as a Special Police Officer.
Dr. Sukul arrived in the United Kingdom in 1990 for further studies and experience in British Psychiatry. He studied for the Diploma in Ericksonian Hypnotherapy, Psychotherapy and Neuro Linguistic Programming at St Ann's Hospital in London whilst working for the NethernepPsychiatric and Psychogeriatric Hospital in Surrey. He also received a coveted “Diploma in Addictive Behaviour” from St Georges Hospital, University of London.
Dr Sukul's doctorate thesis was entitled “Psycho-social correlates of heroin addicts: A cross culture study amongst Indians and white Europeans”. It marked the first international comparative study of these two groups of addicts living in the East and West.
In 1991, he joined Turning Point South All Alcohol Advisory Service (SAAS) as Project Manager, where he pioneered a holistic approach using the application of complementary and alternative therapies e.g. Hypnotherapy, Ayurvedic Medicine, Music and Mantra therapy, Acupuncture, Reiki healing, Shiatsu and colour therapy for the treatment of addiction. Princess Diana was the patron of Turning Point.
His contribution to the development of complementary and alternative medicine has earned him a place in the World and Oriental Medicine in Sri Lanka for M.D (alternative medicine) in 1993 and also an entry into the Dictionary of International Biography, Edition 1995.
His pioneering work has also won him 150 recognition from the American Biographical Institute. He was nominated for the International Book of Honour Award of “ Who's who of the Year 1995 by the American Biographical Institute. He also got the entry in Asian Who's Who in UK.
Diwakar is an acknowledged expert on stress, anxiety, emotional health, personal development, and spiritual wellbeing. He is also trained as a Field Traumatologist and Compassion Fatigue Educator and Thought Field Therapist. He has delivered keynote speeches at a number of International conferences including one on AIDS, drugs and alcohol problems held in New Delhi, on Holistic Medicine in Anneacy, France, ICCA conference in San Diego and in Cairo. He has conducted several national and international seminars and workshops on stress management, multi-dimensional healthcare, addiction and other health related problems. He has delivered training and workshops in the U.K, USA, Switzerland, France, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and India. His major field of interest has been addiction, stress management, past life therapy, therapeutic intervention, compassionate fatigue, hypnotherapy and neuro-linguistic programming, complementary and integrated healthcare. He has appeared on BBC TV, ITV, ZEE TV and several cable television programmes talking about integrated medicine. His work is also featured in newspapers and magazines, including Evening Standard, The Times, Daily Mail. Here's Health etc.
Dr Sukul is actively involved in promotion of Vedic thoughts in a clinical and scientific manner to uplift the humanity . He was born into a Brahman family and his father MrKusumakar Sukul is retired as a scientist from Ministry of Defence in India. His mother KamlaSukul, was a teacher and the founding principal of Bhagirath Public School in Ghaziabad. He has acquired a passion for psychology from his mother and his scientific inclination is attributable to his father. His father originally belongs to Hardoi near to Lucknow. His three brothers live in India and work for BhagirathSewaSansthan initiated by their parents.
Hie is married to Rakhiand are blessed with an extremely talented 17 year-old daughter Divya who wants to pursue a career in psychology, acting and modelling.
Diwakar is a trustee of Sanskrati UK, International Clinic Foundation, Global Media Network in the UK. He was also a founding secretary of Brahman Sabha United Kingdom (BSUK) and organized the international convention of Brahmans in London in 2005. He is currently representing World Brahman Organization as president and organising the international convention in London in September 14 on “The Relevance of The Vedas in Present Era “to share the Vedic wisdom in a clinical and scientific manner to everyone including youth. His awards also include VED Rakshak from World Association of Vedic Educational Studies(WAVES) in USA.
He believes that the Veda is the ancient science to live in harmony with nature and Brahmanical thoughts are to uplift humanity in totality for the optimum wellbeing on the physical, emotional, environmental and spiritual level. He is dedicated to establishing the Vedic Research Institute in India and in the UK.
