Dr. Ajeet R. Singhvi

Dr. Ajeet R. Singhvi – He was born in Merta, Rajasthan (Birth place of great poetess Meera Bai). He graduated in medicine and Law from University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. He immigrated to US in 1977. He completed Internal medicine Residency from Booth Memorial – NYU (1980) and went on to Gastroenterology Fellowship from Wayne State University, Detroit (1982). Dr. Singhvi is board certified in American Board of Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, Geriatrics (2000) and Critical Care Medicine (2005). Sine 1982 he has been in private practice in Gastroenterology. Dr. Singhvi holds faculty appointment at LomaLinda University Medical Center and is also Fellow of American College of Gastroenterologyand American Gastroenterological Association. Dr. Singhvi served  as Chief of Staff at Hemet Valley Medical Center (2000-2004) and on Hemet Hospital Foundation Board (2000-2004). He is presently serving on the Board of Riverside Country Medical Association.

Dr. Singhvi was President of Indian Medical Association of Southern California (2003). He served as Treasurer in AAPI Anaheim Convention (1999) and Chair in AAPI San Diego Convention (2004). He has contributed and raised funds for various charitable causes and is also Patron Trustee of AAPI Charitable Foundation. He has contributed significantly in past three AAPI Indo-US healthcare Summits.

Dr. Singhvi took over the Presidency of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin in Washington DC Convention on June 26, 2010. Dr. Singhvi’s focus has been on active involvement of the younger generation in AAPI. Dr. Singhvi helped to establish two AAPI scholarships for young physicians to work at the Capitol Hill with the legislators in Health policy arena. It is also helping send Medical Students and young physicians to various missions for voluntary service across the Globe. The introduction of Medical Rotations for Medical Students and Young Residents to India scholarships have been very much appreciated. AAPI has established a Legislative Office in Washington, DC with its Legislative Director. An independent physician supported Political Action Committee has also been formed. Under the leadership of Dr. Singhvi, Health India Think Tank is being established. Dr. Singhvi is working closely with the Community leaders and Organizations to address the issues of mutual interest especially that of Disease prevention and Health promotion amongst the Indo-Americans.

Dr. Singhvi resides with his wife Bina (a Rotarian) in Hemet, CA. His son Gaurav, a Graduate from Chicago Medical School in presently a Gastroenterology Fellow at Mount Sinai-Elmhurst Program in New York cit. Daughter Mamta is a Medical graduate from UCLA Medical School and is a Radiation Oncology Resident at Baylor college of Medicine, Houston. Mamta is the President of MSRF section of AAPI which represents over 20,000 medical Students Residents and Fellows.
